PhysioTrain walks the walk for women and girls in developing countries
In 2012 and 2013 PhysioTrain staff walked 10,000 steps a day for CARE Australia’s Walk In Her Shoes Challenge.
Millions of women and girls in poor countries spend hours walking each day in search of food, water and firewood for their families. This burden of walking leaves little time to go to school, access health services and earn an income.
During the past two years PhysioTrain has raised more than $2,000 for CARE Australia. The money raised goes towards CARE projects that help reduce the distance women and girls have to walk by providing clean water and nutritious food close to homes so they can spend more time in school, earn an income and help their community overcome poverty.
